After two weeks of voting, Garage Bar took home first place, while Against the Grain and Haymarket claimed second and third, respectively. In many ways, I am somewhat reserved. I think that aspect of my personality and my interest in science are what led me into the field of chemistry. But, after coming to Four Roses, leaning more about Bourbon and interacting with visitors to the Distillery, I began to realize that I never felt reserved when it came to Bourbon.
Chocolate Bourbon Pie
Recipe by Danielle Nicole DeVoss
1 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1/4 cup finely ground pecans/peanut mix
1 tablespoon sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small chunks
2 tablespoons ice water, plus more if needed
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
4 ounces dark chocolate
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup Four Roses bour
