Great Steamboat Race Celebration Extends to Bourbon Fans on Land

For the 14th year in a row, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Kentucky Derby Festival Great Steamboat Race, that pits the Belle of Louisville against the Belle of Cincinnati in a race down the Ohio River on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

New this year, we’ve partnered with select bars and restaurants in downtown Louisville and along the Ohio River to offer a signature Four Roses cocktail, handcrafted to bring the Great Steamboat Race celebration to Bourbon fans on land. Each participating location has created the signature Great Steamboat Race cocktail using Four Roses Single Barrel, Four Roses Small Batch or Four Roses Bourbon, available now through Derby.

Participating locations include:

• Against the Grain Brewery and Smokehouse
• Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grille 
• Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar
• Taj Louisville

On board, two different Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbons, hand-picked by Master Distiller Brent Elliott, representatives from the Kentucky Derby Festival, the Belle of Louisville and the Belle of Cincinnati, will be served on each vessel during the Great Steamboat Race. The Four Roses Great Steamboat Race Commemorative Single Barrel Bourbons will also be available in limited quantities for purchase at select Kroger Wine & Spirits locations, while supplies last.

The Four Roses barrel coded 29-3 H was chosen as the Bourbon to represent the Belle of Louisville and the barrel coded 29-2 N was chosen to represent the Belle of Cincinnati in the 2019 Great Steamboat Race.
